Service: Community Network Team (Children and Young People)

Role: Support Worker

Hours of Work: Full and Part time positions available (must be able to work flexibly across 7 days a week including before and after school as well as weekends).

Weekend contracts available with the outlook of potential overtime throughout the week

Rate of pay: £8.21 rising to £8.39 after probation with future rises to £8.55 dependent on experience, qualifications and delivery of the organisational values.

Required licences or certifications:

Full UK Driving Licence

WCL Support Worker Brief:

You will be providing professional, high quality support to Children and Young People and engaging in positive activity in the community whilst proving parents and carers with a short break.

Part of your role will be finding and accompanying children and young people to activities that interest them.

Supporting them to have a high quality of life and make their own decisions while supporting and living out our Values within your role.

You will be required to deliver a person centred support to meet the care needs which included but are not limited to personal care, practical, social and domestic support which is agreed within their individual plan while exemplifying best practice at all times. Support should promote the individual’s health and well-being and support them to be active members within their living environment and their local community.

The role is diverse and you may also if you are able to be supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or older people in the community or small group homes.

Service Brief:

The Community Network Team support children, young people and older adults who have learning and/or physical disability and/or associated mental health needs and/or dementia, but wish to live their lives with the greatest self-sufficiency possible and to take their place as active citizens in the community.

Services may be delivered in the person’s own home, out and about in the community or in educational and work settings. They could be 24 hours a day support or less intense periods of activity based or short breaks work.
