Testing

You will have heard the government announcement that tests are now available for anyone living or working in a care home. In reality we are struggling to access this kind of testing and we are still limited to what is available.

So what have we been able to access?

  • We have been able to access testing for resident who are showing symptoms
  • We have had access to testing for colleagues who are displaying symptoms. Although this is in Haydock and has its own issues with regard to logistics. Also since testing went to the wider key worker sector it has meant sometimes they are not available or we are having to wait up to a week for an appointment which means it then renders it not very useful. All that said we are getting the majority of colleagues in for testing when they need it. Of course any colleagues displaying symptoms will not be in the workplace unless they have a negative test, if they can’t access a test they would remain at home for the isolation period.

What have we not been able to access yet?

  • So far we have been unable to access any testing for anyone who is not showing symptoms

We continue to raise this with all relevant authorities such as Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group, The Care Quality Commission and Infection Control bodies. We hope this will be resolved shortly, we will let you know if this changes.

COVID – 19 Confirmed Cases

At the moment all our other residential services have no confirmed cases. This includes The Mews, Lodge Lane House, Twiss green Lane and Lucklaw. We also provide support at Ryfields Village and there are no confirmed cases with those we are supporting there. We also have no confirmed cases across any of our supported living schemes.
